Spring Musical

I hear it in the rustling leaves,
lucent against soft light rays.
Through twisted boughs,
the Sun sprinkles stardust ---
it lightly brushes my skin.

The wind passes a chill,
among tousled grasses.
Their sprigs pirouette
to the tune from a bulbul ---
she whispers it in my ear.

I lay beneath the foliage.
Far beyond, the cloudless sky,
daubs blonde streaks onto the sea
and waves sing along in chorus ---
that forgotten song of spring.

~ A perfect Friday morning by the picnic park along Khaleej Al Arabi street. Spring is in the air.
I caught some shuteye under the trees as my boys played on the grass.
