I have been writing ever since I realized I had too many thoughts to hold in my mind! But it’s been close to three years now that my poetic endeavours wandered to a new level that quietly started making me happy.
“Quiet Happiness” is like a diary that mirrors my moods through the highs and lows of life. Some thoughts that describe me; some beautiful places that have moved me and the most magical nine months of stepping into motherhood. Various like-minded would be able to relate to these poems in some way. And along these mind roads, I hope, they would touch lives spreading a quiet sense of happiness.
"It’s not what you have lost, but what you have left, that matters."
I know, it could have been many better wordsmiths to have a book of their own…but I like to treat this compilation as pieces of me,that I have gathered now with a newfound courage,to share with you all.
Nonetheless, I silently pray, these pure feelings poured out with sincerity will not get misjudged amongst great works of poetry but would find a niche to silently fit in.
Things that come naturally should not require defence. Hence, in a celebration of my transition to being 'officially old' , on my 30th birthday, I gifted myself some “Quiet Happiness “--- my own coffee table book of poems published here in Abu Dhabi !!!
30 poems; 30 years …
But a heart still child-like, fears…Would you like my writings?
Even then, somewhere away from loud unhappiness, I know I will always snatch my own time to write on …quietly…happily (ever after ;)
~ On the release of Quiet Happiness, my first poetic compilation.

first of all -- you write so well!!!
it was very nice to see how you truly opened up about your self... your dreams... your passion... your transition into the inspiring motherhood phase... your life, in general...
being an artist, you paint a crystal clear picture for your readers... you are super expressive, which makes it very easy to follow and literally imagine the scenario...
I could really see you running behind the little one with a sandwich and a water bottle on that terrace :)
I was almost there on the Mediterranean beach... soaking in the sun, enjoying the cool breeze and the calm sea...
I could see you sitting under a tree, back home... painting... enjoying the first rays of the sun and the delicate dew drops... appreciating nature and passing it back to her... beautiful!
(is there anyway you could post your paintings/sketches... on the blog or your picasa album?)
nice concept of 30 years... 30 poems... a nice lead into the title you chose - Quiet Happiness... really looking forward to reading the book now!!
I loved your analogy of an India trip - being like a "Mud Bath"... "messy while you're there, but the after-effects are magical"!!! just lovely! I could totally relate to that since I have experienced that scenario several times.... :) also, it being like a typical Bollywood movie :)
considering Abu Dhabi your new and permanent home... enjoying your freedom... enjoying your profession...
setting up your new home together... the IKEA furniture... reminded me of my first trip with hubby to our local store :) i absolutely love that place... and can never get enough time there!!!!!
enjoyed the post about your "fav things"...
I could literally smell the frangipani in full bloom during summer :) it reminded me of the two trees (one with the normal white चाफा and the other with the dark pink) right behind our flat when we stayed in Pushkar society (behind Om super market!!)...
it was really sweet to read the one where you mention your sis holding your hand while crossing the road... :)
it seems like I could go on and on!! so I think I'll stop here... :)
eagerly waiting to read more posts...
keep up the good work, gal!!!
here's wishing you loads of continued (quiet) happiness, love and luck!
~VP
