The Last Mini Chocolate Croissant

The last mini chocolate croissant,
I left behind with a lot of conviction,
peeps back from that faithful little goody bag
to rescue me this snail-paced dull morning!
But I save it for later,
leaving all temptation aside.
I like to believe it might
wipe out my concerns for today.
These dragging spells wish,
would conclude into profoundness
as I contemplate promising goals…
Perhaps it is only that last croissant,
destined to make me well!

I am responsible for
someone else’s happiness too.
I will lose his trust soon
like I am giving up on my own mind.
Let me take the other route…
Possibly that last croissant
will show me the way.
I won’t eat it just yet…

It feels like a struggle to make good,
the chosen path ,whenever it derails…
The other option never turns out to be better.
Its what's already on your plate,
that’s atleast reliable.
So should I eat the last mini croissant?
I know it won’t really make a difference.
And what if it does!
Well, let me wait and watch.

~ On a deeper note, we tend to hold all hopes on some magical wand to instantly change the 'wrongs' of our life in return of resisting a temptation. The mini chocolate croissant is symbolic of such futile attempts!

  3. There is so much packed in this 'not' so long poem...
frolicking on the surface but intense and deep underneath...
Read it so many times... and every time I found something new hidden under simple lines... :)
