ColourBlind

I seek to be the soul,
not the face.
Alas, you choose to see
the kohl-lined darkness
in my tresses;
the rustic undertones
of my tongue.

From behind dim shadows
of thickened desert palms,
gapes a white mirage
that continues to mock me…

Somewhere in between
these baffling shades of grey,
my mute wordwar
gets wrapped
under sands of doubt.

In these colourcoded lands,
how my creative colourful landscapes
silently wish,
for a world that is colourblind!
