Why me! She questioned…
but the internal struggle, already begun.
Her body against her own mind,
in Life’s unexplained game.
Fight on, O brave woman! Fight on!
To win your true self back.
Make your body your own again.
Let disbelief not pull you down.
Negativities shall trickle down dark alleys.
Let fear not scar your resolve.
With a spirit so ardent,
Fight on O brave woman, fight on!
Slowly collecting an inner strength,
she brought back her broken hope
and set out to write upon destiny’s new page,
with a newborn verve.
Sipping on a changed flavour of
life,
she now basks in the October sunshine.
More beautiful than ever before,
with pride, she wears her pink headscarf...
:: October is
the Breast Cancer awareness month. This poem aims to instill hope into all
those women battling with breast cancer. For someone extremely dear to me, life
so changed suddenly one fine day. This poem is
my way of extending positivity to her. I know she will fight on. She will win.
For herself and for us…
